Where to start when checking a job advert

A company logo or polished message does not establish authenticity. Check an opportunity through independent channels.
Reach the company independently
Find the official careers page without relying on the message’s link. Check whether the role appears there and inspect the contact’s domain. Do not confuse lookalike spellings with the company’s real address.
Question information requests
Requests for payment, account details or unnecessary personal information while a role remains unclear are reasons to pause and verify. EURES’ fraudulent-offers guide also highlights checking the sender and domain. This site does not automatically establish whether a message is genuine.
Keep evidence, not a guaranteed-safe label
Record where contact originated, which listing it matches and which questions you checked. Do not rush important actions before verification through an official channel. Saving an advert in a tracker does not make it verified.
