PROFESSION PREPARATION ROUTE
A preparation file for digital product roles

A preparation route around defining a problem, comparing options and explaining priorities.
Role scope
- Do not equate product owner, product manager and project lead automatically; read the tasks.
- Ask who sets decision scope, team structure and success measures.
- Record the customer request separately from your assumed solution.
Preparing evidence
- Write a problem definition and target-user assumption.
- Compare benefits, constraints and unknowns for two options.
- Do not present interviews you did not conduct as real research.
Interview questions
- What would you learn before immediately building a requested feature?
- How would you justify a priority under constraints?
- What new feedback could change your decision?
Weekly output
- Group fictional feedback into themes.
- Choose one narrow problem and describe two approaches.
- Add assumptions and untested points to a decision note.
